AI in Education: InAiR presented at international workshop at the University of Salento

From 5 to 7 May, the University of Salento (Lecce, Italy) hosted the international workshop “AI in Education: Ethics, Innovation and Practical Implementation, a three-day event bringing together academics, innovators and policy experts to discuss the responsible integration of Artificial Intelligence in higher education.

Within the programme, Gianluca Abbruzzese, CEO of Lascò, INAIR consortium leader, delivered a keynote focused on AI for SMEs, presenting the vision and results of the InAiR project. His intervention highlighted how INAIR supports micro, small and medium-sized enterprises, in developing practical AI skills through accessible training pathways and open educational resources.

The contribution showcased how INAIR bridges education, skills development and real-world business needs, promoting ethical, sustainable and human-centred AI adoption. Special attention was given to the role of AI in improving decision-making, operational efficiency and innovation capacity, while ensuring inclusivity and alignment with European digital strategies.

The workshop is organised within the Erasmus+ project Capacity Building & Advancing Quality Higher Education in Western Balkans through Facilitating AI Integration in Teaching, Learning and Research (EDUFAIR), coordinated by the Professional College of Tirana, and reflects a shared European commitment to strengthening AI competences across education, research and industry.
